IMAN Cosmetics

My new makeup obsession that I am feeling at the moment is Iman's makeup line. I use to wear her foundation stick back in the summer until I got a summer tan and then I was manly using my Bare Minerals and Iman's Oil Blotting Press Powder. Recently I was in the search for a new liquid foundation and I decided to try Iman's liquid foundation. That stuff is like liquid gold. I absolutely love it! The texture is so rich and creamy unlike anything I have ever tried. Then I went out and bought the loose powder and it is like velvet. Now I have only been wearing Iman and since my tan has faded I've been using the foundation stick again. Iman's makeup is the best. I think that her makeup has better color matches then anything else out there, even better then Mac. You can go to the website to find your color. There is function online where you can put the color that you wear in other brands and it will tell you your Iman color. I also love that her makeup is affordable and very easy to find. It is sold in Ulta, Walmart, and other convenient locations. She is right it is second to none.

Old Hollywood Glam

Whatever happened to old Hollywood glamour when women got dressed up everyday? In those days women were very well put together and dressed like ladies where ever they went. Back then going to a picture show (movies) was like going to a fashion show where everyone put on their very best to hit the town. What happened? Sometimes when I go out I see people in their pajamas or just some sweats. How did our society get so casual? How can we bring back those old glamours days? I picked a few dresses that reminded me of that era with a modern twist. These dresses are very easy to wear. Tell me what you think.

Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween. Halloween is a great opportunity to get dressed up in clothing that you would not ordinarily leave the house in. You have a chance to be as scary or as glamorous you can be. Sometimes the hard part is coming up with an original costume that has not already been done before. Here are a few last minute Halloween costume ideas that I thought of and no one at the party will have. Have fun!

I Found a Treasure

I found this awesome conditioner that I wanted to share with everyone. The conditioner is from the Aubrey Organics line that can be found at your local Vitamin Shoppe and it is their Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner.

So a little background information about my hair and how I came upon this wonderful product. I have been going natural for about two years. My hair is naturally waving to curly but, I always wear my hair blown out and flat ironed. My hair is really thick and healthy but lately my hair have been breaking off at the bottom of my crown and I am trying to save it before it breaks off anymore. I know that the breaking is probably from all of the heat I use on my hair so I am trying to go a month with deep conditioning and no blow outs. To substitute the blow outs I have been doing roller sets.

The challenge was that when I do roller sets on my own hair they would come out really dry. So I took to the blogs to see what I could change with my roller sets so that my hair would not come out dry. That is how I found the Aubrey Organics Line. All of the products in the line are made with 100% natural ingredients, which is great for the hair. So, I decided to use the moisturizing conditioner as a deep conditioner and a leave in conditioner. It worked great! My roller sets come out super soft.

I encourage everyone to give this conditioner a try. It is amazing.

The Caped Avenger

I have never been much of a fan of capes. I always thought that they were kind of weird looking and they would be hard to function in. Until now. One day I was in New York & Company and I saw it, the perfect cape for my style. It was a black belted trench front cape and there was only one left and in my size so I grab it and put it on. It looked so good on me that I fall in love with it and bought it. The cape originally retails for $89.95 which is not bad and I had a coupon for 40% off. It was a awesome buy. I am ready for cooler weather so I can wear my cape. I have been converted into a cape lover.

My New Obsession

So, right now my new obsession is vintage Dooney & Bourke from the 1980's to early 1990's. A lot of people do not know that Dooney & Bourke bags are made from some of the finest leather and will almost last forever. They are truly some of the best crafted handbags around and they are an American brand that is still made in the U.S.

I do own a few Dooney & Bourke bags already but I wanted a vintage piece. So, I took to the Internet for my search and I found a lot of people were selling these collector's items on eBay for a very cheap price. The bag that is pictured above is the one that I won for only $12. This was a steal. The bag is in mint condition and it is authentic with the label and serial numbers. It is from the All Weather Leather Collection from the 1980's that was originally retailed for $300. I love this bag, it is so classic and chic. I can not wait to wear it.
